The LMC has published new further guidance for GP practices on the Death Certification Reforms which came into force on September 9, 2024.
Since September we have been engaging with practices and system partners to gather feedback and monitor how the changes are working. This new guidance follows a number of issues raised with us by practices and our discussions with the Medical Examiner Office. It includes:
- Engagement of GPs with the Medical Examiner Office
- CN1A and CN1B forms
- Identification of an Attending Practitioner for community deaths
- Implantable medical devices
- Responsibility for identification of the Attending Practitioner
