At the end of 2024, I provided a roundup of the years major interface activity. This month’s update will be more brief. I’d like to start by thanking everyone who support the interface work in 2024 by sharing information with us. The queries and system intelligence you shared made a difference. Whilst there are still many difficulties to address, your support did resolve many issues, and led to ongoing system work to resolve some of the more problematic issues. Humberside LMCs looks forward to supporting its constituents with their interface difficulties in 2025.
Looking ahead, the year promises to bring significant developments from an interface perspective. A major point of focus will be the integration of the North and South Bank Primary/Secondary Care Interface Groups (PSCIGs). With their newly expanded Terms of Reference (ToR) now including non-acute providers, there is great potential for a more cohesive and unified approach to addressing interface challenges across Humberside. This expansion paves the way for increased collaboration, and we look forward to being part of this evolving framework.
Over Christmas, I created a further resource to support GP practices taking part in collective action. The new template letter (found here) is designed to support GPs who have made a referral, which has subsequently been declined, with A & G being offered by the speciality. Please have a look at it and if you have any questions do not hesitate to get in touch.
I look forward to updating you on our interface work over the coming months. As always, please send your interface difficulties to us and we would be happy to support you with them.
