Team Administrator

Part-time, Permanent
East Riding of Yorkshire
Posted 2 weeks ago

Job summary
This is an administrative role, working within a small, friendly and professional team known as the LMC Secretariat. The secretariat does the day-to-day work of the organisation to support GPs (our constituents) and their practice teams. You will be one of 3 administrators and your work will assist the Operations Manager to ensure the efficient day-to-day running of the office and support the rest of the LMC staff team.

You will know what it is to genuinely be part of a team and support your colleagues. You will be friendly with a positive attitude.

We don’t necessarily need you to have NHS or primary care experience but understanding towards our GPs, their teams and the challenges they face is essential.

The role will be offered on a permanent contract, subject to probationary reviews, and is a part-time post of 25 hours per week. There will be a requirement to attend some evening meetings as part of this role so some flexibility will be required.

Main duties of the job
You will receive constituent queries on a rota basis, responding via email and telephone and triaging these for the relevant team member to action.

Other duties will include processing invoices, organising meetings, diary management and being involved in planning and delivering a number of online and face to face events.

We are committed to supporting the development of all our team members. Much of the learning for the role can be done on the job but we also have a comprehensive induction programme with ongoing support from your colleagues and the Management Team.

About us
The Organisation

The Humberside Group of Local Medical Committees Ltd is one of a unique group of organisations that exist across the country to represent and support GPs. We cover a wide geographical area that includes Hull, East Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire.

The work we do includes:

  • Advising GPs and their practices about their NHS contracts
  • Providing support both to individuals and teams in general practice
  • Liaising and negotiating with other organisations throughout the NHS to represent the views and interests of GPs
  • Sharing information and good practice
  • Organising events on subjects relevant to GPs and their practice teams
  • Raising the profile of GPs and highlighting their role and achievements

LMCs are representative organisations. This means that we have a membership of GPs elected by their peers to represent them. Our members are grouped together into two separate committees (North & North East Lincolnshire LMC & Hull & East Yorkshire LMC) that meet regularly to discuss issues relevant to primary care.
