With the rapid expansion of GLP-1–based therapies, the management of diabetes and obesity in general practice has entered a more complex phase, where guidance alone is often insufficient. This session focuses on how GPs can apply clinical judgement in this evolving landscape, using real dilemmas from everyday primary care.

Dr Yasmin Zaidy is a GP Partner in the East Riding of Yorkshire, leading on diabetes, obesity and lifestyle medicine within a busy primary care setting. With nearly two decades of NHS experience, she focuses on the practical application of lifestyle-based interventions and modern pharmacotherapy in everyday general practice. She has previously organised and delivered educational events for the Royal College of General Practitioners and is a Fellow of the College.
