Aims of the event:
- To share an update on the national strategy for the ‘Best Start Family Hubs and Healthy Babies’ programme
- To share local context for Hull and consider the specific vulnerability of babies
- Highlight areas of good practice using a local case study and how the local offer links with the national picture
- Facilitate discussions around improved ways of joint working across services to better support babies, children, young people and families
- To provide an opportunity for attendees to network and contribute to future service development
Interactive Workshops (choice of 2 from 6 to be selected during registration):
- Little Moments, Big Impact. Nurturing Young Minds: The GroBrain Approach – how we support parents and carers to help them understand how their interactions help wire up a baby’s brain, for lifelong emotional wellbeing
- Peep Learning Together Programme – helping parent, carers and practitioners make the most of the learning opportunities in everyday life by supporting their babies’ and young children’s learning through play. Find out more about Peep and its role in supporting families in Hull
- Infant Massage – experience a practical introduction and gain an insight of the key benefits for parent/carer and baby. Infant First Aid – join in and learn how we work alongside families to build confidence and support safer home environments
- ‘US Mums’– find out more about physical activity and wellbeing through a practical session to learn how we help pre and post-natal mums feel empowered, connected and supported throughout their journey. First 1001 Days Universal Offer – learn how the team provide opportunities across the Family Hubs, delivering and promoting social interaction, reducing isolation, early intervention and support alongside child development
- Circle of Security – a discussion exploring this parenting intervention. Together, we’ll reflect on children’s needs (and our own), to explore, play and learn; to be welcomed home and have feelings organised; and to experience a safe haven – someone who is bigger, wiser, stronger and kind
- Healthy Parent Carers Programme (HPC) – this programme aims to improve health and wellbeing among parents of children with additional needs and disabilities through empowerment, resilience and promoting confidence
